Full Medical & Surgical Facilities

The New Hall Veterinary Centre offers a full veterinary service for your pet - both for medical as well as surgical problems. We can perform a variety of specialized investigative procedures from  an ECG - electrical tracing of your pet's heart - to ultrasound examinations to X-rays and to the whole range of laboratory tests that the best veterinary medicine can offer. Our vets are very experienced and we handle the vast majority of operations ourselves at the Preston vet clinic but we can also organise referral to a veterinary specialist if necessary.

Hospitalisation and Intensive Care at our Preston Vet Clinic

It is our belief that pets are better to be nursed at home where they are happy in their normal environment and we will recommend this wherever possible. Sometimes, though, your pet may need intensive observations or treatment at the centre and we have an area in the Preston vet clinic designated for that purpose. Even then we will try to hospitalise pets from early morning until later in the afternoon to allow you to take your pet home in the evening.

Imaging - General & Dental X-Rays, Ultrasound examinations

We have a modern general X-ray unit in addition to a smaller dental X-ray unit, these allow us to take appropriate internal images of your pet if they are ill. We also have a modern MIUS ultrasound unit that allows us to obtain internal ultrasound images of your pet.

Home Visits

The New Hall Veterinary Centre is fully staffed and equipped to provide the best veterinary care for your pet. However, there may be times when it is difficult for either you or your pet to attend the Centre and it may be better for us to arrange a time that suits us both for a home visit. Of course there are restrictions on what we are able to do on a home visit as some specialist equipment is not portable and we carry a more limited range of drugs with us. Having said that a home visit can be very beneficial in the following circumstances…

  • If you have lots of pets and they all need their annual health check and vaccinations
  • Your pet detests travelling and for everyone's sanity a home visit would work better
  • You have difficulty getting to the Preston vet clinic

Home Visit

Please note that there may be an additional charge for a home visit. We will discuss this with you when you call the Preston vet clinic and before we come out to visit you.

Cremation and Burial Services

Losing a much-loved pet is always a difficult time - whether your pet has died at home or if they have been brought to the Preston vet clinic to be put to sleep. Many clients will wish to bury their pet at home, but if this is difficult or impossible then we can arrange to have your pet cremated and the ashes returned to you in either a cardboard container or a wooden casket; there are even grave plots at our Pet Crematorium.

Dispensing Facilities

The New Hall Veterinary Centre carries a well-stocked dispensary of pet medicines and specialty pet foods.

RCVS Practice Standards Scheme

The New Hall Veterinary Centre is proud to be a member of the RCVS Practice Standards Scheme. This scheme is a voluntary initiative to accredit all veterinary practices in the UK and is run by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons - the statutory body that legislates and governs veterinary practices.  The Scheme aims to promote and maintain the highest standards of veterinary care in practices by setting standards and carrying out regular inspections. Before the New Hall Veterinary Centre became an accredited practice, we needed to undergo a rigorous inspection in addition to demonstrating a range of standards - hygiene, 24-hour emergency cover, staff training, equipment and giving written estimations of procedures. We are re-inspected every few years and may get a spot-check between scheduled inspections. What does this mean for you? Simply peace of mind that you are working with a well run and regulated practice that consistently works to the very highest of standards.
